I had a north-west facing corner office for a couple of years on the 11th floor of the Wells Fargo building in Sacramento. On a clear day, you could see the remarkable Sutter Buttes in the distance.

For 400 miles south to north, the famous Sacramento Valley is pancake-flat. But for these peculiar hills, providing relief in the FlatLands. I painted this geometric agrarian scene with its Summer sunsets and Winter floods a hundred times before I left for new horizons to explore and paint.

This is one of my favorites. Great texture contrasts. My kids and I enjoyed it hanging at home for years, but it's time to share now. Just can't keep them all :)
